Job Requirements

  • Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service certification upon hire if not already certified
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays
  • Must have guest service experience, preferably in an upscale setting
  • Food and beverage serving experience preferred
  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Must be able to multi-task in a busy environment
  • Follow through on guest requests
  • Ensure guest satisfaction
  • Work as a team player
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Stand for extended periods of time

  • Food and beverage knowledge

Job Duties

  • Greet all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness
  • Acknowledge and greet all guests, anticipate guest needs, and respond to guest inquiries or requests
  • Effectively merchandise food and beverage menus in an informative, friendly, and enthusiastic manner
  • Communicate with food and beverage staff to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Clean and reset dirty tables according to standards
  • Clean and polish water glasses and silverware
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
  • Prepare work area for either opening or closing in accordance with company standards
  • Ensure furniture and floors are kept clean and arranged
  • Attend staff meetings to receive information and direction
  • Contribute to a professional workplace that maximizes employee morale, productivity and effectiveness
  • Work well with a diverse FOH and BOH staff
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested by a manager
  • Insure responsible service of alcohol by following all legal requirements including carding and consumption
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders from guests and promptly record all transactions in the Micros system
  • Maintain guest tabs and facilitate payment following procedures
  • Serve food and beverage to guests following company steps of service and adhere to service times
  • Follow daily checklists and side work
  • Set-ups, stocks and breakdown of service and dining room following procedures
  • Complete all assigned cleaning duties
  • Comply with direction and instruction from the management team
