Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a hospitality or bartending role preferred
  • Knowledge of state and federal alcohol service laws
  • Ability to perform manual tasks including cutting garnishes and lifting stock
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic arithmetic proficiency
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Must comply with all health and safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Must communicate well with guests
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total other charges, and understand portion sizes
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnishes, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and retrieve stock with or without accommodation
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote various menu items with or without accommodation
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures with or without accommodation
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods with or without accommodation
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences

Job Duties

  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on daily function projections
  • Maintain stock, cut, and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality
  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promote and document drink orders
  • Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practice prudent portion control
  • Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create checks for each guest including those served by other servers to maintain beverage accountability
  • Receive cash from guests, make change, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed to balance all money
  • Lock and store all beverage, food and equipment items, deposit cash drops and secure bank
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
