The Groundskeeper position at San Manuel Casino is integral to maintaining the aesthetic and functional condition of the casino’s exterior surroundings including parking structures and various parking areas. This role primarily focuses on performing comprehensive maintenance duties such as cleaning and debris removal, equipment operation, minor painting, and emergency spill response. The Groundskeeper will actively contribute to brand loyalty by delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers, ensuring all outdoor areas reflect the high standards of the casino.

This role demands physical endurance and the ability to work in an outdoor, fast-paced environment, often requiring flexibility to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. Candidates for the Groundskeeper position should possess a high school diploma or GED with at least one year of relevant experience preferred. The role may also require obtaining and maintaining a gaming license as mandated by the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, along with a valid driver's license for operating tribal or patron vehicles.

Responsibilities involve general housekeeping duties, operating various maintenance equipment such as auto scrubbers and forklifts, pressure washing surfaces, painting, and managing waste disposal by cleaning and replacing trash liners and ashtray sand. The Groundskeeper will also handle cleaning after emergency spills of hazardous fluids like transmission oil or fuel, maintaining safety protocols through proper chemical handling and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) compliance.

Physical requirements are substantial and include the need to exert physical effort, balance, stoop, and perform repetitive motions, ensuring efficiency throughout long shifts. The working conditions expose employees to outdoor elements and airborne particles, including secondhand smoke, while also necessitating travel to meetings and promotional events within San Manuel properties.
