Job Description
The San Diego KOA is an award-winning outdoor campground resort with a rich history of over 50 years in hospitality. Located in sunny southern California, this premier campground offers a variety of lodging options including RV sites, cabins, deluxe cabins, and tent spaces. Open 365 days a year, the resort attracts families and guests from around the world who come to enjoy the natural beauty and outdoor recreational activities of the area. San Diego KOA prides itself on creating memorable camping experiences by providing top-notch customer service and a welcoming atmosphere. The resort is committed to maintaining a safe and friendly environment, ensuring guests have all they need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
We are currently seeking a dynamic Outdoor Guest Service Team Member to join our seasonal, part-time staff. This role plays a crucial part in supporting our guests and enhancing their overall experience. With working hours primarily in the evenings, weekends, and holidays, this position offers flexibility with shifts scheduled between 7am and midnight. The hourly wage begins at $17.00, with the possibility of increases based on experience. The successful candidate will report directly to the Guest Service Department Manager. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, engaging with diverse groups of people, and demonstrating leadership among peers.
As a member of the Outdoor Guest Service Team, you will be responsible for upholding the resort's customer service philosophy through attentive and proactive guest management. This includes ensuring guests receive a high level of service, coordinating late arrivals, resolving issues in collaboration with the office staff, and enforcing resort policies. In addition, your duties will encompass operating the campground management system, communicating effectively with staff using Microsoft Teams, maintaining cleanliness standards through custodial work, and participating in ongoing team training. The role may also involve light pool maintenance and filling LP gas tanks during office hours. Overall, the Outdoor Guest Service Team Member helps to cultivate and maintain the resort-like atmosphere that makes San Diego KOA a preferred destination for campers.
This position requires an individual who is professional, communicative, reliable, and physically capable of meeting the demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing during the entire shift. Having a friendly and patient demeanor, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team, are essential traits. Prior experience in the hospitality industry is required, along with a valid driver’s license to operate light vehicles safely on and off the property. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are considered a plus. If you are passionate about offering exceptional guest service in an outdoor setting and want to be part of a dedicated team at a well-established campground resort, we would love to hear from you.
