Job Description
Barr-Nunn Transportation is a reputable dry van truckload carrier founded in 1982, known for its stability, profitability, and commitment to exceptional service and safety. Operating a fleet of approximately 600 tractors and around 2,150 trailers, Barr-Nunn serves some of today’s largest e-commerce businesses and other companies that demand reliable on-time pickup and delivery services. Over the decades, Barr-Nunn has earned a solid reputation for its outstanding safety record and award-winning service, positioning itself as a trusted partner for top-notch shippers. This dedication to professionalism and consistency has made Barr-Nunn an established player in the truckload transportation industry, ensuring that it remains a dependable employer and service provider in a competitive market.
This role offers a full-time position as a solo company truck driver, focusing on the transportation of full dry van truckload freight. The driver will run routes for 21 days followed by 7 days home time, driving 100 percent no-touch freight which minimizes physical handling, increasing safety and efficiency. Compensation is competitive, with an annual earning potential ranging from $85,000 to $95,000, depending on experience and endorsements, complemented by a host of lucrative bonuses and benefits.
Barr-Nunn places a strong emphasis on driver support and convenience. For example, drivers must park their trucks at one of the company terminals, and Barr-Nunn covers the cost of flights back home and return or reimburses fuel expenses for drivers residing east of I-35, ensuring minimal out-of-pocket expenses. This position also offers an exceptional first check transition bonus, potentially up to $1,875, plus orientation pay and paid time off. Drivers with a HAZMAT endorsement receive additional financial incentives. The trucks are well-equipped with modern conveniences such as TVs, microwaves, refrigerators, inverters, Sirius XM radio, bedding, and CB radios, creating a comfortable and connected driving experience.
The company also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with a match. Barr-Nunn values safety and rewards it with quarterly bonuses and safety-based pay raises. Other perks include referral programs, detention pay starting after just one hour, accelerated paid time off based on miles driven, and access to advanced tools for load and payroll management via smartphones. Orientation pay and a free rider program are also included, underscoring the company’s commitment to driver satisfaction and retention.
Overall, this role is ideal for experienced commercial drivers looking for a stable, well-paying job with a reputable carrier that provides excellent benefits, substantial bonuses, and a supportive working environment. Barr-Nunn’s long-standing history and focus on consistent on-time delivery make it a reliable employer that drivers can trust for many years to come.
