Job Description
Barr-Nunn Transportation, established in 1982, is a reputable dry van truckload carrier known for its extensive fleet comprising about 600 tractors and approximately 2,150 trailers. The company specializes in providing exceptional on-time pickup and delivery services, catering to the needs of major e-commerce clients as well as other businesses that prioritize reliability and punctuality. Barr-Nunn's commitment to a stellar safety record and award-winning service has made it a stable, profitable operation that thrives on meeting the sophisticated demands of top-tier shippers. This dedication to excellence ensures that the company remains a trusted name in the transportation industry, standing strong amid the often volatile trucking market.
Working at Barr-Nunn Transportation means joining a company that values long-term stability and the satisfaction of both its customers and employees. Drivers can expect a supportive environment that recognizes their hard work and dedication through industry-leading pay, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for advancement. Barr-Nunn prides itself on maintaining a well-equipped, late-model fleet, including Freightliner Cascadia tractors paired with newer 53-foot Wabash trailers, which feature modern tracking and cargo sensors to enhance operational efficiency and driver ease.
This position offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $95,000 per year, complemented by a generous signing bonus and transition incentives. The role is ideal for experienced solo company drivers looking to run consistent routes with home time every 21 days followed by 7 days off. The freight hauled is 100% no-touch dry van truckload, which minimizes physical labor and maximizes driver comfort and safety. Drivers are expected to park trucks at one of Barr-Nunn's terminals, with the company providing paid flights or fuel reimbursement to and from home for those living east of I-35, ensuring convenient and stress-free travel arrangements.
The role also includes accessorial pay for stop-offs and other applicable duties, along with multiple safety performance bonuses that reward drivers for maintaining a clean driving record and meeting mileage milestones. Orientation pay and an enticing referral program further enhance the compensation package, offering monetary rewards and paid time off benefits. Barr-Nunn's advanced technology systems allow drivers to manage loads and payroll via smartphone apps or truck stop services, streamlining administrative tasks and allowing drivers to focus on their primary responsibility of safe and efficient freight delivery.
Additional perks include premium pay for hauling placarded HAZMAT materials, accelerated paid time off accumulation, detention pay starting after just one hour, and daily wage increases tied to safety and performance metrics. The company equips trucks with modern amenities like TVs, microwaves, refrigerators, inverters, Sirius XM radio, bedding, and CB radios to make each journey as comfortable as possible. Overall, the job at Barr-Nunn Transportation combines competitive earnings, comprehensive benefits, and job security with a commitment to driver well-being and operational excellence, making it an outstanding career opportunity for professional truck drivers.
