Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- 1+ years related experience and/or training
- ability to operate heavy equipment
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- doubles/triples endorsement
- HazMat endorsement
- tanker endorsement
- applicable certifications and licenses
- ability to comply with DOT, OSHA and Hazmat regulations
- ability to perform physical tasks involving maintenance and delivery
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1+ years related experience and/or training
- knowledge of basic farm equipment and operation preferred
- ability to do a variety of tasks in succession such as blending products together, loading a truck and driving to a farm
- ability to accurately and safely operate heavy equipment such as sprayer/applicator and semi-truck and trailer
- ability to use a computer including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook or mobile app
- ability to learn and manipulate company software
- ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with management, team members and customers
Job Duties
- perform equipment and plant maintenance including welding, pump and engine overhauls, painting, and general housekeeping responsibilities
- load and deliver fertilizer and chemicals to customers
- operate equipment to blend fertilizer
- monitor product application by calculating amounts, calibrating equipment, controlling application rates, and cleaning and storing equipment after application process
- receive and unload product and perform warehouse inventory and storage functions
- keep a clean, orderly vehicle and organize the warehouse and yard materials
- ensure proper loading and operation of vehicles in compliance with DOT, OSHA and Hazmat regulations
- comply with all company and customer safety requirements
- assist with special projects, attend training sessions, provide back-up when needed, and other work-related duties as assigned
- promote and live the Simplot brand to customers, employees and community
- responsible for accurate, timely and safe product deliveries and where applicable, product application
