The Operations Supervisor – Transportation position is based in Philadelphia and is an on-site role, offering a salary range of $57,774.71 to $72,218.39 annually. This leadership role involves managing a team within a fast-paced environment where safety, efficiency, and quality are paramount. The successful candidate will oversee employee performance and engagement with safety and production initiatives, ensuring uninterrupted and timely service delivery to customers. The role requires the supervisor to be outgoing, safety-focused, and effective in motivating and guiding staff through daily operations. Responsibilities include organizing and staffing the transportation area, conducting daily group meetings, scheduling labor to meet productivity and overtime targets, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards such as FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and HACCP.

In addition to these operational duties, the supervisor will actively document processes to identify areas for improvement. They will play a central role in aligning their team with the company's safety guidelines and performance standards, enhancing overall productivity while ensuring compliance with government regulatory agencies. This position also supports corporate initiatives related to quality, lean manufacturing, employee safety, and production systems, making it an integral part of the company’s continuous improvement efforts.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge in a relevant field, complemented by one to three years of related work experience. Job Duties

  • Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed and that all delivery times are being met timely
  • Conduct daily work group meetings
  • Schedule and control staff to meet labour productivity and overtime targets
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulatory agencies standards such as FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, HACCP
  • Document and follow up on all department processes in order to implement improvements
  • Ensure on-time and accurate production and/or catering of all flights
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
  • Guide, motivate and develop staff within the Human Resources policies
  • Make the company’s values and management principles live in the department
  • Manage productivity hours and costs in the area of responsibility
  • Initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
  • Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Quality, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety and Production systems
  • Other duties as deemed necessary
