Employees at LSG Sky Chefs benefit from a culture that values teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement, making it an ideal workplace for those seeking to grow in the airline catering industry.
The position of Operations Supervisor - Cold Food Production is a critical leadership role within LSG Sky Chefs' Austin facility. This onsite supervisory role is integral to the day-to-day management of cold food production operations in a high-volume airline catering setting. The supervisor is responsible for organizing, directing, and supervising a frontline team of approximately 25 to 30 employees, ensuring all cold food items meet stringent quality and safety standards. The role requires effective workflow management to meet production timelines and flight schedules, while strictly adhering to safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance protocols.
The Operations Supervisor will oversee the preparation and assembly of cold food products, maintaining rigorous quality control throughout the production process. This role requires a proactive leader with strong communication and organizational skills, capable of fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous process improvements. The supervisor is also responsible for scheduling shifts, monitoring labor productivity, and minimizing overtime, while ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and HACCP regulations.
Working hours for this position include five consecutive workdays followed by two days off, with flexibility to work non-traditional hours such as early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, given that the airline catering operation runs 24/7, 365 days a year. The salary range for this role is competitive, between $55,000 and $69,000 annually, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance starting from day one, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, sick leave, holidays, tuition reimbursement for professional development, free parking, and daily meals.
The Operations Supervisor will be expected to lead by example, guiding and motivating staff while embodying company values and management principles. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a prestigious company’s ongoing success, providing a challenging yet rewarding career path for individuals passionate about food production and operational leadership within the airline catering sector.
