Job Description

United Warehouse is a leading third-party logistics (3PL) provider specializing in comprehensive warehouse and distribution solutions. With a proven track record in delivering efficient and reliable logistics services, United Warehouse caters to a broad array of clients seeking top-tier supply chain management and distribution center operations. The company is committed to fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment, offering opportunities for professional growth, competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to meet the diverse needs of its workforce. Located in Wichita, Kansas, United Warehouse prides itself on operational excellence and a customer-centric approach, maintaining a strong focus on safety, productivity, and employee engagement in its distribution facilities.

The Operations Manager position at United Warehouse is a pivotal, full-time role classified as exempt, reporting directly to the General Manager. This strategic leadership position commands responsibility for overseeing all warehouse operations and staff, including non-exempt warehouse personnel. The Operations Manager will be instrumental in driving productivity, efficiency, and profitability at the 3PL distribution center, managing core business functions such as shipping, receiving, order processing, packing, product put-away, returns, and inventory control. This role requires a self-starting, people-oriented individual with at least 4 to 7 years of experience in warehouse management and proficiency in warehouse management systems.

With a first-year compensation range of $65,000 to $85,000, this role not only offers competitive pay but also a robust benefits package. Employees at United Warehouse enjoy shared health insurance plans with the company covering 72 percent of premiums, paid time off including two weeks during the first year, six paid holidays, two floating personal holidays, and the opportunity to earn year-end performance bonuses. Additionally, employees benefit from a 401k plan with immediate vesting on matching contributions, AD&D insurance, short-term disability, and term life insurance. This comprehensive package reflects United Warehouse's commitment to supporting its employees both professionally and personally.

The Operations Manager will maintain clear and effective communication with site leadership and internal customers to ensure that operational needs are met with sensitivity and precision. This includes managing support functions essential for external customer satisfaction and participating actively in budget planning and cost management to align operations with organizational goals. The role involves implementing and monitoring quality management systems, resolving operational issues promptly, fostering collaboration across internal teams, and regularly measuring and reporting on cost and service performance indicators.

Furthermore, the Operations Manager will lead efforts to create a clean, safe, secure, and efficient work environment. Responsibilities include overseeing the entire workflow in the distribution center, from receiving and put-away of products to picking and shipping, while ensuring adherence to safety protocols. The role demands proactive leadership through daily warehouse meetings, safety program management, and direct personnel administration including hiring, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations. The successful candidate will also establish cycle count programs to maintain inventory accuracy, manage claims and overtime hours, and prepare and manage warehouse budgets within authorized limits.

This position is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and values teamwork and customer satisfaction.
