Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in logistics management with a 3PL or freight forwarding company
- Strong knowledge of transportation methods and supply chain operations
- Proficient in logistics software systems such as ERP WMS CRM and compliance software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to solve complex problems and make strategic decisions
- Capability to manage and lead teams effectively
- Willingness to work full-time in Seattle Washington
- Negligible travel requirements
Job Qualifications
- 5-7 years experience with increasing levels of responsibility working directly for a 3PL or freight forwarding company
- Industry related degree and/or certification
- Knowledge of transportation principles and methods for moving goods by multiple modes
- Knowledge of customer and personal service principles and processes
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation
- Knowledge of production and processing techniques for distribution of goods
- Knowledge of public safety and security policies and procedures
- Knowledge of personnel and human resources principles and procedures
- Knowledge of computers and electronics including software applications
- Knowledge of education and training methods
- Knowledge of mathematics and economics and accounting principles
- Strong active listening skills
- Skilled in management of personnel resources and motivating teams
- Excellent speaking and communication skills
- Critical thinking and complex problem solving abilities
- Strong time management and coordination skills
- Sound judgment and decision making capabilities
- Proficient reading comprehension
Job Duties
- Resolve problems concerning transportation logistics systems imports or exports or customer issues
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes such as customer sales order management accounting or shipping
- Maintain metrics reports process documentation customer service logs or training or safety records
- Provide guidance to logistics specialists planners or schedulers
- Facilitate inbound or outbound logistics operations such as transportation or warehouse activities safety performance or logistics quality management
- Coordinate comprehensive logistical or reverse logistical functions for product life cycles including acquisition distribution internal allocation delivery recycling reuse or final disposal of resources
- Correspond with suppliers or customers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability
