Huntsville Havoc is a professional hockey team based in Huntsville, Alabama, competing in the Southern Professional Hockey League. The organization is known for its exciting game day atmosphere and commitment to providing fans with memorable experiences through hockey events and community engagement. The Havoc not only compete at a high level in their sport but also serve as a key entertainment and community pillar in the Huntsville area, making significant contributions to local culture and economy. Established to bring professional hockey to Huntsville, the team enjoys a passionate fan base and works hard to maintain high standards in game operations, fan engagement, and event management.
The Operations Coordinator position is a full-time, seasonal role running from September 2026 through April 2027 designed as a paid post-graduate internship opportunity. This role offers recent graduates and entry-level candidates a chance to build valuable experience in sports management, event operations, and live entertainment within a professional sports environment. Working closely with multiple departments, the Operations Coordinator supports all facets of the game day experience and special events, ensuring smooth execution and high fan satisfaction. Responsibilities include coordinating game scripts and timelines, managing in-game promotions, supporting auction events, assisting with event setup and breakdown, and serving as the primary point of contact for fans at the front office. This role requires a motivated, organized individual capable of thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic setting. Job Qualifications

- Familiarity with Social Tables and Momentus Elite (preferred but not required)
Job Duties
- Assist in planning and executing all Havoc home games and select special events
- Support creation and distribution of game scripts, timelines, and operational documents
- Coordinate in-game elements including promotions, intermission activities, theme nights, and fan engagement features
- Assist with execution of specialty jersey nights, auctions, and post-game experiences
- Manage on-site logistics during games to ensure smooth operations
- Help brainstorm creative theme night ideas and fan engagement concepts
- Assist in building, organizing, and executing in-game and online auctions
- Coordinate item preparation, display, fulfillment, and winner communication
- Track auction inventory and support revenue-generating initiatives
- Assist with arena and promotional setup prior to games and events
- Coordinate signage, tables, auction displays, and activation areas
- Participate in post-game tear-down and equipment organization
- Ensure all event materials are properly stored and maintained
- Serve as the first point of contact for fans visiting the Havoc office
- Sell single-game tickets via phone and in person
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Maintain a professional and welcoming front-office environment
