The Operations Associate, Barista role at Gopuff is a unique and dynamic position that blends operational proficiency with hands-on experience in food and beverage preparation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring customers consistently receive high-quality, accurate orders with efficiency and care. Employees in this position will engage in a variety of tasks including preparing handcrafted Starbucks beverages, managing inventory, packing orders, and maintaining a clean and organized facility. The role requires adaptability and attention to detail, as associates may find their daily responsibilities shifting from restocking shelves to supporting inbound deliveries or assembling customer orders quickly and precisely.
In addition to food and beverage preparation, Operations Associates, Baristas contribute significantly to Gopuff's overall operation by undertaking duties that ensure smooth functioning of the facility behind the scenes. This involves adhering to food safety standards, managing waste and spoilage with mindful practices, and performing cleaning tasks necessary to maintain an organized and sanitary work environment. Candidates in this role must be comfortable working in diverse environments, including areas such as freezers and multi-floor facilities.
This is a hands-on, physically active position requiring the ability to lift up to 49 pounds and operate equipment such as carts, pallet jacks, and dollies safely. - Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift up to 49 lbs during shifts
- Comfortable working flexible schedules including early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technology and multi-step processes
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Food service, retail, or operations experience preferred but not required

Job Duties
- Prepare quality Starbucks beverages and food menu items by following recipes, production cards, and presentation standards
- Ensure accuracy and quality of all packaged food and beverage items staged for delivery
- Receive, unpack, and replenish product deliveries
- confirm inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Pick, pack, and stage customer orders with speed and precision
- Maintain organization and cleanliness across the kitchen, café, and facility spaces
- Manage waste and spoilage by following FIFO and mindful preparation practices
- Monitor and record temperature-sensitive food items per food safety standards
- Complete and document cleaning tasks as outlined in best practices
- Safely handle, scan, and move product
- operate carts, pallet jacks, and dollies as needed
- Work in varying environments, including freezers and multiple floors within the site
- Complete required Starbucks training and uphold Gopuff and Starbucks safety, sanitation, and compliance standards
- Perform other duties based on business needs
