The Operating Partner role at Whataburger is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing the successful performance and management of one or more restaurants. This position involves leading a team of Family Members—employees dedicated to providing excellent customer service—and managing all aspects of restaurant operations including financial management, staffing, and adherence to brand standards. The Operating Partner plays a vital role in making key business decisions regarding profit and loss, labor, food costs, and maintenance, ensuring the restaurant meets or exceeds performance goals. This role requires a hands-on leader who collaborates with Managers and Market Leaders to implement operational plans and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
The Operating Partner is expected to attract and retain top talent by making strategic hiring choices, providing growth and development plans, and conducting regular employee performance evaluations. This role also emphasizes safety and compliance by promoting food safety protocols and ensuring a safe work environment for all team members. Additionally, the Operating Partner is tasked with managing customer relationships, resolving complaints effectively, and leading the adoption of new company initiatives such as product launches, system upgrades, and marketing campaigns. This position is ideal for a motivated individual with strong business acumen, leadership skills, and a passion for the restaurant and hospitality industry.

Job Duties
- Manages profit and loss, oversees financial tasks such as cash reporting, labor, food expenses, repairs, and maintenance
- Responsible for attracting and retaining talent through key hiring decisions, growth and development plans, and regular performance assessments
- Works with Managers and the Market Leader to execute operational plans
- Monitors restaurant performance and processes utilizing reporting tools, customer metrics, and labor metrics
- Maintains restaurant safety protocols through promotion of all food safety policies, procedures, tools, and systems and creation of a safe work environment
- Builds relationships with customers and resolves customer complaints
- Responsible for rollout and adoption of all change initiatives, to include new products, systems, company campaigns and strategies
