The Maple Grove location, situated at 13300 Bass Lake Road N, is currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Opening General Manager to lead their team and maintain the franchise's stellar reputation for quality and service.

This Opening General Manager position is integral to the successful operation of the Jimmy John's restaurant in Maple Grove, Minnesota. The role involves comprehensive oversight and management responsibilities that include supervising daily operations, managing staff, overseeing food preparation, and ensuring world-class customer service. The manager will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the restaurant run smoothly, from employee scheduling and inventory management to maintaining store standards and profitability. Typically managing a team of 3 to 15 employees, the General Manager is the key figure who drives the restaurant towards operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

The pay range for this position is $40,000 to $42,000 annually, depending on experience, accompanied by a schedule that includes morning and afternoon shifts across all days of the week. Responsibilities extend to overseeing hiring, training, and evaluation of staff, ensuring adherence to corporate policies and procedures, maintaining inventory to prevent waste and theft, managing cash drawers, and conducting regular manager meetings. The role demands excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to work independently, handle high-stress situations, and employ strong interpersonal skills to motivate and manage employees effectively.

Physical stamina is a key component of this role as it requires bending, standing, and walking throughout the workday, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and maintaining the capacity to work 50-60 hours per week. Candidates must be at least 19 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, current automobile insurance, and a clean driving record.

Job Duties

  • establish the store’s labor goals and staff needs including pay rates
  • manage a staff of approximately 3 to 15 employees
  • assign, oversee and evaluate work
  • manage hiring, training, evaluation, discipline, and termination of employees
  • provide on-the-job training for new employees
  • delegate and be responsible for ordering, receipt, storage and issuing of all food, labor, equipment, cleaning, and paper supplies to minimize waste or theft
  • supervise the preparation, sales, and service of food
  • order appropriate amount of food items to meet anticipated customer demand
  • supervise food preparation and service operations
  • ensure every customer receives world-class customer service
  • route deliveries and serve drivers to maximize delivery business and speed
  • execute systems and procedures with 100 percent integrity and completeness
  • complete daily and weekly paperwork
  • be responsible for 100 percent of the cash drawers during shifts
  • implement corporate policies
  • control inventory using weekly inventory systems and maintain regular inventory ordering schedules
  • receive and store product
  • conduct weekly manager’s meetings
  • audit systems, procedures, and shift-ending paperwork
  • arrange preventive maintenance and upkeep on equipment and supplies
  • perform other related duties as required
  • assist in-shoppers during rush periods
  • assist in-shoppers in greeting customers, taking orders, using the cash register, assembling orders, and checking completeness and correctness
  • complete daily food preparation including opening procedures, meat and vegetable slicing, and bread production
