The role of Event Service Specialist (ESS) at Maritz is a vital position responsible for delivering exceptional client and guest experiences through superior on-site customer service and event execution. This onsite role is the primary point of contact during meetings and events, ensuring smooth operations, seamless coordination, and high-quality service delivery. The ESS collaborates closely with internal teams and external service partners such as catering, audiovisual services, security, transportation, and hospitality teams to manage logistics and support clients in real time. Day-of-event responsibilities include running product demonstrations or training, conducting staff meetings and event space walkthroughs, managing onsite logistics including registration and VIP handling, and implementing crisis management procedures when necessary. The Event Service Specialist is also tasked with liaising directly with clients to communicate expectations and scope changes, continuously seeking solutions and improvements to elevate the overall event experience. This position requires a flexible and proactive individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment while ensuring that every event is executed to the highest standards. Job Duties

  • Act as the primary onsite contact for events, partnering with catering, AV, security, transportation, and other service teams to ensure successful execution
  • Provide day-of-event support, including being onsite or on-call, running product demonstrations or training others, and completing event documentation such as surveys and photos
  • Conduct staff meetings, event space walkthroughs, and briefings as needed
  • Manage all onsite logistics within assigned focus areas including transportation, registration, rooms, hospitality desk, food and beverage, activities, business meetings, technology, and executive/VIP handling
  • Support onsite problem solving, assist with staffing needs, and implement crisis management procedures when required
  • Serve as liaison to the client during onsite execution, ensuring expectations, scope changes, and deliverables are clearly communicated
  • Collaborate with event teams to define solutions and continuously improve the overall client and guest experience
