Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work full-time
- Skilled in multitasking and communication
- Proficiency in basic computer and typing skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism in stressful situations
- Willingness to obtain Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification within first year
- Commitment to adhere to company policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Pleasant professional phone manner
- Detail oriented
- Typing skills of 30 wpm or better
- Ability to excel in high-stress environment
- Adapt to frequently changing policies
- Ability to learn policies and procedures for facilities and recognize when to apply them
- Medical background a plus
- EMD certification required within one year of employment
Job Duties
- Answer and arrange transportation both emergent and non-emergent including determining level of care required
- View pre-scheduled calls and make necessary adjustments with hospital staff and dispatch
- Prioritize transports to fulfill hospital needs including specialty and critical care transports as well as flight requests
- Provide accurate and appropriate estimated time of arrivals
- Make rounds on hospital floors
- Attend hospital huddles
- Assist in organizing patient belongings and patient paperwork for transport
