Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work full-time
  • Skilled in multitasking and communication
  • Proficiency in basic computer and typing skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in stressful situations
  • Willingness to obtain Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification within first year
  • Commitment to adhere to company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Pleasant professional phone manner
  • Detail oriented
  • Typing skills of 30 wpm or better
  • Ability to excel in high-stress environment
  • Adapt to frequently changing policies
  • Ability to learn policies and procedures for facilities and recognize when to apply them
  • Medical background a plus
  • EMD certification required within one year of employment

Job Duties

  • Answer and arrange transportation both emergent and non-emergent including determining level of care required
  • View pre-scheduled calls and make necessary adjustments with hospital staff and dispatch
  • Prioritize transports to fulfill hospital needs including specialty and critical care transports as well as flight requests
  • Provide accurate and appropriate estimated time of arrivals
  • Make rounds on hospital floors
  • Attend hospital huddles
  • Assist in organizing patient belongings and patient paperwork for transport
