Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a medical or customer service role preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff and emergency personnel
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work full-time
  • Must obtain EMD certification within 1 year of employment
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly and professionally
  • Proficiency in typing at 30 wpm or higher
  • Willingness to adapt to changing policies and procedures

  • Typing skills of 30 wpm or better
  • Ability to excel in high-stress environment
  • Adapt to frequently changing policies
  • Ability to learn policies and procedures for facilities and recognize when to apply them
  • Medical background a plus
  • EMD certification will be required within 1 year of employment

Job Duties

  • Answer and arrange transportation both emergent and non-emergent including determining level of care required
  • View pre-scheduled calls and make necessary adjustments with hospital staff and dispatch
  • Prioritize transports to fulfill the hospital needs including specialty and critical care transports as well as flight requests
  • Provide accurate and appropriate estimated time of arrivals
  • Make rounds on the floors
  • Attend hospital huddles
  • Assist in organizing patient belongings and patient paperwork for transport
  • Assist in making sure crews arrive to the patients in a timely manner
  • Assist Superior Ambulance billing department with PCS and insurance requests
  • Provide information and assistance regarding billing procedures
  • Establish relationships with hospital staff
  • Develop effective solutions for customer service issues
  • Communicate effectively both written and verbal
  • Possess critical thinking skills
  • Perform other duties as assigned
