This role is that of an Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk working as an In-Store Grocery Shopper. The primary responsibility involves selecting and gathering products for customers' online orders with an emphasis on freshness and quality. The position requires a high level of attention to detail to ensure products meet defined standards before packaging. The clerk will carry out the full selection process for online orders, scan and bag items on the go while adhering to bagging standards, and process payments and coupons. Upon customer arrival, this employee will load the assembled orders into the customer’s vehicle, ensuring a smooth and positive customer service experience that encourages repeat business.

In addition to order picking and assembling, the Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk plays an integral role in communicating any substitutions, exceptions, or changes to the customer's order during the pick-up process. The position demands rigorous compliance with all local, state, and federal laws alongside food safety guidelines to maintain the utmost quality and freshness of the products delivered. Employees in this role also collaborate closely with other e-commerce team members to maintain order staging areas and equipment, report any discrepancies related to product pricing or scanning, and notify supervisors of any equipment malfunctions needing repair.

The position requires the completion of opening and closing procedures related to the pick-up area, assisting with training new team members, and sustaining productivity standards even in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment. Problem-solving and conflict-management skills are essential, as is the ability to work cooperatively with other team members. Job Duties

  • Select and gather products for customers' online orders with attention to freshness and quality
  • Assemble customers' online orders, process coupons and payment
  • Deliver and load orders into cars when customers arrive for pick-up

  • Communicate any substitutions or exceptions to customer's order at time of pick-up
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and food safety procedures
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment
  • Report pricing, scanning, and item location discrepancies to supervisor
  • Inspect equipment and notify management of repair needs
  • Perform required opening and closing procedures
