This role of Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk, also referred to as In-Store Grocery Shopper, is essential to Kroger's e-commerce and customer satisfaction efforts. The primary responsibility is efficiently selecting and gathering products for customers' online orders with strict attention to freshness and quality, ensuring the highest standards are met. The position also involves assembling online orders, processing coupons and payments, and delivering the orders directly to customers' cars upon their arrival. The role demands excellent communication skills, as team members need to communicate any substitutions or exceptions during the pick-up process and deliver an outstanding customer service experience that encourages repeat online shopping.

Associates in this position are expected to demonstrate Kroger's core company values while fulfilling their job functions in a fast-paced, sometimes high-stress retail environment. The role requires careful adherence to food safety laws, store policies, and operational procedures, including maintaining cleanliness and organization of staging areas and equipment.   • Previous experience as a personal shopper or in production, warehouse, stocking, or cashier role preferred

Job Duties

  • Select and gather products for customers' online orders with attention to freshness and quality
  • Assemble customers' online orders efficiently
  • Process coupons and payments accurately
  • Deliver and load orders to customers' cars upon arrival
  • Communicate substitutions or order exceptions at time of pickup
  • Scan and bag orders following bagging standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of staging areas and equipment
  • Report discrepancies and equipment issues to management
  • Perform required opening and closing procedures
  • Assist in training new e-commerce team members
  • Follow food safety laws, company policies, and procedures
  • Provide positive customer service to encourage repeat business
