Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Current license or certification in the state of assignment as EMT-Paramedic
  • Current CPR and AED certification
  • Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years of clinical or hospital experience
  • Ability to manage donor eligibility screening
  • Familiarity with plasma collection industry regulations
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Availability to work full time in Indianapolis, IN

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of an educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment as EMT-Paramedic
  • Current CPR and AED certification
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting

Job Duties

  • Determine donor eligibility including informed consent management, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis
  • Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies according to SOPs and Center Physician's standing orders
  • Refer donors to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance
  • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
  • Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health or emergency room
  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting community pandemic investigations
