This position is part of Target’s On-Demand workforce, meaning you can work as many or as few shifts as you desire by selecting available shifts through the myTime mobile scheduling app. Unlike traditional scheduled roles, On-Demand Team Members are not included on posted weekly schedules but have the autonomy to choose shifts that best fit their availability and lifestyle.

The Small Format Team Member plays a critical role in maintaining the store’s operations and ensuring a welcoming, efficient shopping environment. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities, including cashiering, stocking, merchandising, pricing accuracy, inventory management, and guest service. As a Small Format Team Member, you will be well-versed in several areas of the store, helping maintain product availability, organizing the sales floor, and supporting critical processes such as truck unloads and backroom audits. The position requires physical activity such as lifting merchandise, climbing ladders, and working in varying environmental conditions, reflecting a dynamic and active workplace.

Guest service is at the heart of this role. You will assist customers with their needs, resolve inquiries promptly, and foster a guest-first culture by engaging warmly and knowledgeably. Attention to detail is paramount as you ensure accuracy in pricing, signage, and inventory records while executing scheduled store transitions and promotional setups. The Small Format Team Member also helps uphold store standards related to cleanliness, safety, and organization. Successful candidates will demonstrate reliability, strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.

Working as an On-Demand Team Member does require commitment to maintaining active engagement by picking up and completing shifts regularly, ideally at least one shift every four weeks with a minimum of four hours per shift. This ensures continued employment eligibility. Additionally, the role involves participating in a Target Welcome orientation and structured training to prepare for the responsibilities. Job Duties

  • create a welcoming experience for guests while completing daily tasks
  • engage with guests to address their needs in a welcoming manner

  • be knowledgeable about products, tools, and services to enhance guest experience
  • help guests while performing workload with minimal disruption
  • work in all departments to ensure sales floor is stocked, organized, and priced accurately
  • assist with truck unload and stocking of product on the sales floor
  • execute adjacency changes, transitions, revisions, and sales plans
  • conduct weekly price changes and ensure accurate signing for departments
  • complete scans and system audits to maintain inventory accuracy
  • support execution of major transitions
  • maintain interior and exterior brand standards including cleanliness and cart management
  • accurately execute product pulls and manage backstock
  • process all inbound deliveries using receiving application
  • complete weekly backroom audits
  • operate power equipment only if certified
  • maintain backroom organization and follow equipment guidelines
  • comply with safety policies and report hazards
  • support guest services such as backup cashier, order pickup, and Drive-up while complying with applicable laws
  • perform other duties based on business needs
