Job Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Reliable and prompt attendance
  • Ability to pick up and work shifts at least once every four weeks
  • Must respond to company communications to maintain active employment
  • Capability to handle and move merchandise up to 44 pounds safely
  • Ability to remain mobile throughout a scheduled shift
  • Ability to work in varying temperature and weather conditions
  • Must attend Target Welcome orientation and complete required training
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Age requirements as per labor laws

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in retail or customer service is a plus but not required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn and use technology including mobile apps and scanners
  • Ability to multi-task and remain focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive and welcoming attitude toward guests and team members
  • Basic math and cash handling skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to engage guests and problem solve effectively

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
  • Observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact and tailor your approach
  • Engage with guests in a genuine way by asking questions to understand their needs
  • Be knowledgeable about products, services, and tools to solve guest issues and improve their experience
  • Scan and bag guest items efficiently and in compliance with safety standards
  • Work efficiently to minimize guest wait times while maintaining accuracy
  • Make guests aware of brand launches, store activities, and events
  • Promote Target Loyalty programs and assist with applications and sign-ups
  • Explain and demonstrate the use of the Target App and Wallet features
  • Handle returns and follow register prompts, partnering with leaders as needed
  • De-escalate negative guest situations and recover the shopping experience
  • Deliver service to Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
  • Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area
  • Support guest services and Cash Office processes
  • Work safely and comply with all safety policies and best practices
  • Perform all other duties based on business needs
