Job Description
Target is a leading retail company well-known for its commitment to helping all families discover the joy of everyday life. With a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences and fostering an inclusive culture, Target has established itself as a favorite destination for shoppers across the United States. Known for its values and culture, Target offers a dynamic and supportive work environment for its team members. Employees are encouraged to contribute to the company's mission by delivering excellent service, promoting guest loyalty, and supporting the overall shopping experience.
The On-Demand Team Member role at Target provides a unique and flexible employment opportunity ideal for individuals seeking a personalized work schedule. Unlike traditional roles, On-Demand Team Members are not assigned a fixed weekly schedule. Instead, they have the flexibility to pick up shifts that fit their availability through the myTime mobile scheduling app. This approach allows team members to work as much or as little as they choose based on shift availability and store needs. The starting hourly rate for this position is $18.25 USD per hour.
As an On-Demand Team Member focusing on the Guest Advocate position, you will play a vital role in enhancing the guest experience through welcoming interaction, problem-solving, and promoting in-store and digital services. You will be responsible for ensuring guests feel appreciated and valued by providing friendly and efficient service at various touchpoints such as checklanes, guest services, gift registry, order pick-up, and Drive-Up.
This role demands flexibility, reliability, and active engagement. Team members are expected to pick up and work shifts at least once every four weeks, with a minimum shift duration of four hours, responding to contact attempts from leadership to confirm interest in available shifts. Failure to meet these engagement standards may result in employment termination. New hires must attend a Target Welcome orientation and participate in structured training to prepare for their duties effectively.
In your day-to-day role as a Guest Advocate, your responsibilities will be varied and engaging. You will communicate effectively with guests, understand and promote Target's loyalty programs and app features, manage returns following company policies, and maintain a clean and orderly workspace. The position also requires you to handle cash transactions accurately, support cash office processes when necessary, and comply with all safety and ethical standards. Teamwork and flexibility are crucial as you adjust to fluctuating store needs, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
Working as a Guest Advocate at Target is an opportunity to develop valuable skills in customer service, problem-solving, and retail operations. The role is suited for individuals who enjoy fast-paced environments, are proactive in assisting others, and take pride in creating positive shopping experiences. Target is dedicated to providing its employees with meaningful experiences and competitive benefits that support their well-being and career growth. To learn more about benefits eligibility, applicants can visit Target's official career benefits page.
Target is also committed to fair hiring practices and inclusivity, considering applicants with criminal histories in line with Fair Chance Ordinances, and providing reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities. This ongoing recruitment opportunity welcomes individuals eager to join a vibrant retail community and contribute to a brand centered on joyful everyday living.
