Job Requirements
- Accurately handle cash register operations and support cash office
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely including lifting items up to 44 pounds
- Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Reliable and prompt attendance
- Active engagement by picking up and working shifts every 4 weeks via myTime mobile app
- Respond to management contact attempts to confirm interest in working shifts
- Work at least one shift within 6 months or be subject to administrative termination
- Exposure to varying temperatures and conditions during job tasks
- Ability to remain mobile throughout scheduled shifts
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in retail or customer service is a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively and use positive language
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
- Attention to detail while multi-tasking
- Willingness to educate guests and engage around products and services
- Ability to operate technology equipment including handheld scanners
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Duties
- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
- Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
- Observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact
- Engage with guests in a genuine way including asking questions to better understand their specific needs
- Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store and specific to your area to solve issues and improve experience
- Thank the guest in a genuine way and let them know they are appreciated
- Scan and bag guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices
- Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
- Make guests aware of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
- Know and speak to the benefits of Target loyalty programs and assist with application or sign-up
- Understand and show guests how to use Wallet and other features of the Target App
- Attempt every return and follow register prompts, partnering with leaders when needed to help solve for the guest while following company policies
- Partner with leaders to de-escalate negative situations and recover the guest shopping experience
- Deliver easy and accurate service to order pick up, drive up, and registry guests
- Maintain a clean and clutter-free work area including gathering abandoned items, baskets, and hangers
- Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for guests
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
- Work in a safe manner at all times to benefit yourself and others and comply with safety policies
- Support guest services such as order pick up, drive-up orders, and returns while maintaining compliance with laws
- Support cash office processes including management of cash systems
- Perform all other duties based on business needs
