This role is for an On-Demand Team Member position at Target, offering a flexible and personalized work schedule that suits various lifestyles and commitments. As an On-Demand Team Member, employees have the unique opportunity to select shifts through Target’s myTime mobile scheduling app, allowing for greater control over when they work. This system is designed to support team members who may need varying weekly hours or those who prefer intermittent work based on store needs.

In this role, reliability and prompt attendance when scheduled are critical, as workers are expected to pick up and complete shifts regularly—at least once every four weeks for a minimum of four hours. Failure to maintain this minimum engagement or respond to communications from Target may result in termination of employment. Additionally, the role requires participation in an initial orientation and training program to ensure team members are well-equipped to deliver excellent service.

On-Demand Team Members, particularly Guest Advocates, play a crucial part in enriching the guest experience at Target stores. They are responsible for creating welcoming environments, helping guests with their needs, and providing knowledgeable assistance about Target’s products, services, and digital offerings. Team Members actively promote loyalty programs, facilitate services such as order pickup and drive-up, and maintain store cleanliness and safety. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • reliable and prompt attendance

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • create a welcoming experience by greeting guests during daily tasks
  • engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs
  • be knowledgeable about store tools, products, and services to solve guest issues and improve experiences
  • thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target
  • scan and bag guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards
  • work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
  • promote current and upcoming brand launches, store activities and events
  • inform guests about Target Loyalty programs and assist with application or sign-up
  • understand and demonstrate how to use Wallet and other Target App features
  • handle returns following register prompts and policies
  • partner with leaders to resolve guest issues
  • provide service at Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry
  • maintain a clean and clutter-free work area
  • stock supplies during store hours while remaining available for guests
  • demonstrate ethical conduct, safety and compliance
  • comply with safety policies and report hazards
  • support guest services such as order pick up and Drive-up including legal compliance
  • support Cash Office processes including cash management
  • perform other duties based on business needs
