The On-Demand Team Member (TM) role at Target offers a unique employment opportunity designed to provide team members with flexibility and control over their work schedules. This role demands reliable attendance, a commitment to working shifts consistently (at least once every four weeks and a minimum of four hours), and active engagement with communications from the Target team to confirm shift interest. Those unable or unwilling to meet these expectations may face termination. Upon hiring, new team members participate in a welcome orientation and a structured training program tailored to prepare them adequately for their responsibilities within the store. The position mainly centers on delivering exceptional guest experiences, assisting in various service areas, and promoting Target’s loyalty programs and services.

Guest Advocates are key to creating a positive, inclusive, and efficient shopping environment. Their daily tasks may involve greeting guests warmly during routine store duties, addressing guest inquiries, processing transactions accurately, and facilitating checkouts while minimizing wait times. They also help guests understand and engage with Target’s digital solutions such as the Target App, Wallet features, and various store services including order pick-up and Drive Up. The role encompasses problem-solving and de-escalation of situations to maintain customer satisfaction, collaborating with store leaders when necessary, and upholding a safe and ethical work culture.

This position is physically active and may require lifting items up to 44 pounds, working in variable temperature conditions, and maintaining mobility throughout shifts. The compensation starts at $19.00 USD per hour, reflecting Target’s commitment to fair wages. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior retail or customer service experience is a plus
