Reliability and promptness are critical, as team members must respond to shift offers and maintain communication with leadership to avoid administrative termination.

As a Guest Advocate part of the On-Demand Team, employees play a pivotal role in enhancing the customer experience through direct interactions and exceptional service. This role involves welcoming guests, addressing their needs, assisting with transactions, and promoting Target's loyalty programs and digital services. The Guest Advocate is trained to resolve guest concerns thoughtfully and efficiently, making shopping quick, easy, and enjoyable. Responsibilities include working at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, order pickup, and drive-up services while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • minimum of one shift worked every four weeks
  • reliable and prompt attendance
  • flexibility to work varying hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times
  • ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely
  • frequent lifting or moving of items up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 44 pounds
  • capacity to remain mobile and work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions
  • active engagement in picking up shifts and responding to contact attempts
  • ability to comply with cash handling procedures and safety protocols

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks
  • engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs
  • be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store and specific to your area to solve guest issues and improve their experience
  • scan and bag guest items efficiently and accurately in compliance with safety standards and company best practices
  • minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy
  • promote and inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
  • assist guests with Target Loyalty program applications and use of the Target App
  • handle returns and resolve guest concerns in partnership with leaders
  • deliver easy and accurate service to order pickup, drive-up, and registry guests
  • maintain a clean and clutter-free work area
  • stock supplies during store hours while remaining available for guests
  • comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training
  • support cash office processes including management of cash systems
  • perform additional duties based on business needs
