Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
- reliable and prompt attendance
- ability to lift up to 44 pounds occasionally and regularly move merchandise weighing up to 10 pounds
- capability to work in varying environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity
- willing to pick up and work shifts via myTime mobile app at least once every 4 weeks
- responsive to communication attempts from leadership
- must work at least one shift within every 6 months to maintain employment, effective December 2024 at least one shift within 5 months
- ability to operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately
- commitment to adhering to safety policies and company standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior retail or customer service experience a plus but not required
- strong communication skills including positive language and attentiveness to guest needs
- ability to multi-task and remain focused in a fast-paced environment
- welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
- proficiency or willingness to learn to use handheld scanners, communication devices, and other technology
- ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Job Duties
- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
- create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
- observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact and tailor your approach
- engage with guests in a genuine way including asking questions to better understand their needs
- be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to solve guest issues and improve their experience
- thank guests authentically to show appreciation for shopping at Target
- scan and bag guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards
- work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
- make guests aware of current and upcoming brand launches and store events
- promote Target Loyalty programs and assist with applications and sign-ups
- understand and demonstrate features within the Target app such as Wallet
- handle returns and partner with leaders to resolve guest concerns while following policies
- support Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guest services with accuracy and compliance
- maintain a clean and clutter-free work area and stock supplies while remaining available to guests
- demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance at all times
- work in a safe manner to identify and correct hazards
- assist with cash office processes as needed
- perform other duties based on business needs
