On-Demand Team Members are empowered to choose their own shifts by using Target's myTime mobile scheduling app, picking up shifts when it suits them best. This flexibility allows team members to work as much or as little as they prefer, with the understanding that reliable and prompt attendance is essential once a shift is chosen.
As an On-Demand Team Member specializing as a Guest Advocate, this role focuses heavily on delivering exceptional guest service and engagement. The Guest Advocate acts as a welcoming face for Target guests, offering assistance, answering questions, and ensuring smooth shopping experiences. Responsibilities include greeting guests warmly, assisting with purchases including scanning and bagging, promoting Target’s loyalty programs, and educating guests on digital tools like the Target App and Wallet features. The role requires strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a positive, helpful attitude to adapt to a variety of guest interactions and situations.
This position does not follow a fixed weekly schedule, instead allowing team members to flexibly pick up shifts across various departments depending on store needs. This can include assisting with checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up, and drive-up services. The role is physically active and may require lifting merchandise up to 44 pounds, working in varying temperatures, and standing or being mobile for the entire duration of a shift. Shifts may vary and can include nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.

Job Requirements
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays and peak times
- reliable and prompt attendance
- capable of lifting up to 44 pounds occasionally without assistance
- able to stand or remain mobile for the duration of shift
- respond to contact attempts for shift confirmation
- ability to work in varying temperatures and environments
- willing to actively pick up shifts and work at least one shift every four weeks
- legally authorized to work in the United States
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
- create a welcoming experience by greeting guests during daily tasks
- engage with guests in a welcoming manner to assist with their needs
- be knowledgeable about store tools, products, and services to solve guest issues
- scan and bag guest items efficiently and in compliance with standards
- minimize guest wait time while maintaining accuracy
- promote Target loyalty programs and assist guests with enrollment
- follow store policies for returns and escalated situations
- support order pick up, drive up and registry guest services
- maintain a clean and clutter-free work area
- stock supplies during store hours
- comply with safety policies and report hazards
- support cash office processes as needed
- perform all other duties based on business needs
