Job Requirements

  • Must possess at least two years of experience as a sushi cook
  • Demonstrated proficiency in knife skills and sushi preparation
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and instructions
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Capability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
  • Physical ability to lift 25 pounds and perform various physical tasks such as standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, and grasping
  • Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to interact professionally with guests and staff
  • Commitment to maintaining food quality and safety
  • Adept at multitasking and organizational duties in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of sushi cook experience preferably in a high-volume luxury hotel or restaurant
  • Accurate knife skills and ability to follow recipes
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Ability to work professionally with diverse personalities
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail
  • Physical ability to lift at least 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to work any shift including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepare and organize mise-en-place for sushi and sashimi dishes
  • Execute all sushi and sashimi preparations with precision
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment in compliance with Health Department standards
  • Develop and contribute to a new omakase dining experience in Restaurant ANZU
  • Monitor stock levels and report deficiencies in quality or quantity to the Restaurant Chef
  • Interact professionally with guests and hotel staff
  • Ensure proper rotation, storage, and chilling of food items to minimize spoilage
