Job Requirements
- Must possess at least two years of experience as a sushi cook
- Demonstrated proficiency in knife skills and sushi preparation
- Ability to read and follow recipes and instructions
- Effective communication skills in English
- Capability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- Physical ability to lift 25 pounds and perform various physical tasks such as standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, and grasping
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to interact professionally with guests and staff
- Commitment to maintaining food quality and safety
- Adept at multitasking and organizational duties in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Two years of sushi cook experience preferably in a high-volume luxury hotel or restaurant
- Accurate knife skills and ability to follow recipes
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to work professionally with diverse personalities
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail
- Physical ability to lift at least 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work any shift including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Prepare and organize mise-en-place for sushi and sashimi dishes
- Execute all sushi and sashimi preparations with precision
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment in compliance with Health Department standards
- Develop and contribute to a new omakase dining experience in Restaurant ANZU
- Monitor stock levels and report deficiencies in quality or quantity to the Restaurant Chef
- Interact professionally with guests and hotel staff
- Ensure proper rotation, storage, and chilling of food items to minimize spoilage
