Job Description

JW Marriott is a distinguished luxury hotel brand within the Marriott International portfolio, boasting over 100 stunning properties located in prominent gateway cities and unique resort destinations worldwide. Renowned for its commitment to excellence and unparalleled guest service, JW Marriott embraces a culture that puts associates first, fostering an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to deliver exceptional hospitality. The brand embodies confidence, innovation, genuineness, and intuition, continuing the proud legacy of its founder, J. Willard Marriott. At JW Marriott, the work experience is unlike any other, offering a strong sense of community and camaraderie among a diverse group of co-workers. The company prioritizes training, development, and recognition, creating opportunities for associates to grow both professionally and personally. Practicing holistic well-being and nurturing a luxury environment, JW Marriott believes that taking care of its associates is the foundation for delivering extraordinary guest experiences — this philosophy is proudly known as The JW Treatment™.

The role of Spa Scheduler at the JW Marriott/Ritz-Carlton located at 900 W Olympic Blvd in Los Angeles, California, offers a vital opportunity to contribute to the luxury guest experience through efficient scheduling and customer service. This is a non-management, part-time position offering a competitive pay range starting at $27.16 per hour, with significant increases after 9 months ($30.56 per hour) and 18 months ($33.95 per hour). The Spa Scheduler’s primary responsibility is to manage the scheduling of spa and salon services for individuals and groups using advanced reservation software. The role involves constant communication with guests to confirm appointments and answer any inquiries about available services, as well as coordination with service providers to handle last-minute schedule changes or cancellations.

In addition to managing the booking system and coordinating logistics, the Spa Scheduler checks in guests for their appointments, ensuring correct identification and providing a general orientation of the spa facilities. Part of the position also includes promoting and selling spa and salon services to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue generation. The Spa Scheduler handles financial transactions by managing a cash bank, processing guest payments, securing authorization for charges, and accurately logging cash tips for employees. They are responsible for maintaining accurate financial records by balancing and submitting receipts to accounting.

Operational duties include communicating maintenance and repair needs to the Engineering department to uphold the facility’s premium standards and ensuring the workspace remains safe and compliant with company policies. Reporting accidents, unsafe conditions, and other incidents to management plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment for both guests and staff. The position demands professionalism in appearance and demeanor, strict confidentiality of proprietary information, and adherence to company standards of guest interaction — including clear and courteous communication both in person and over the phone.

This role requires the staff member to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and perform light physical activities such as moving and lifting objects up to 10 pounds. Working in collaboration with supervisors and managers, the Spa Scheduler fulfills various reasonable job duties as necessary to support smooth spa operations. This position is ideal for motivated individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent, offering an entry point into the luxury hospitality sector with excellent potential for growth and advancement within the Marriott International family.

Marriott International is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. The company welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and actively fosters a culture that respects and values each individual’s unique contributions. Employees with disabilities, veterans, and qualified individuals with criminal histories are encouraged to apply in accordance with applicable laws. Joining JW Marriott means becoming part of a remarkable global team dedicated to the art of hospitality and delivering Wonderful Hospitality. Always.
