Job Description

White Sands is part of HumanGood, the largest nonprofit owner and operator of senior living communities in California and one of the largest in the nation. HumanGood is dedicated to creating environments where older adults can thrive, offering comprehensive senior living life plan communities also known as Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC). With a mission focused on redefining senior living, HumanGood emphasizes purpose-driven work to positively impact residents' lives by providing supportive, engaging, and well-maintained environments. This organization not only strives to serve its residents with the highest standard of care and community but also values its team members as pivotal contributors to these outcomes.

The role offered is for a Dishwasher at White Sands, a vital position supporting the daily operations of a senior living community kitchen. This is an on-call weekend and evening availability position with a pay rate ranging from $18.75 to $20.00 per hour. The dishwasher contributes directly to maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of dishware, kitchenware, and food preparation areas, ensuring that community dining experiences are smooth, hygienic, and enjoyable. The individual will operate dishwashing machines, ensure all dish cleaning is efficient and meets sanitation standards, and assist in various kitchen maintenance tasks.

The dishwasher will be expected to undertake responsibilities such as monitoring dish machine water temperature and chemical levels, keeping accurate logs to comply with sanitation regulations, managing kitchen waste appropriately, and maintaining a safe and clean workspace by adhering to cleaning agent guidelines. This role is fundamental in upholding the cleanliness and operational excellence necessary for food service in a senior living setting, affecting both the community’s health standards and the overall satisfaction of residents.

Candidates for this position should have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience, with prior dishwasher experience being advantageous. A Food Handler's Certificate is preferred but not mandatory. The environment at White Sands promotes learning and growth, with HumanGood offering extensive opportunities for continuing education, career development, and personal advancement. Team members can expect a nurturing workplace that supports their professional and personal well-being.

Starting from the first month after hire, employees are eligible for comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off that increases with tenure, holidays, a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions, health savings accounts, tuition reimbursement, and other supportive programs. This role comes with added responsibilities of completing opening and closing checklists for kitchen upkeep and ensuring the dish room is systematically organized.

White Sands and HumanGood are committed to equal opportunity employment, fostering a diverse workplace free from discrimination. Joining this team means being part of a caring, community-focused organization where each member’s contribution creates meaningful impacts on residents’ lives every day. If you are a conscientious, detail-oriented individual with a commitment to quality and service excellence, this dishwasher position at White Sands offers a rewarding career in senior living hospitality.
