Job Description

Cherokee Nation Entertainment (CNE) is an industry leader in gaming and hospitality, operating multiple premier casino resorts and entertainment venues across Northeastern Oklahoma and beyond. The brand proudly owns and operates nine Cherokee Casinos, along with other renowned destinations like Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa and Gold Strike Casino Resort in Tunica, Mississippi. As one of the most successful tribal businesses in the country, CNE is deeply committed not only to providing unforgettable gaming and entertainment experiences but also to the well-being and growth of the Cherokee Nation and its communities. Over more than two decades, Cherokee Casino has established itself as a flagship for quality, offering guests an array of attractions including slots and table games, live entertainment, diverse dining options, hotels, golf courses, horse racing, and more.

The Bar Back role at Cherokee Nation Entertainment is a part-time, on-call position pivotal to the smooth operation of the bar services at their various venues. With a competitive pay rate of $11.50 per hour plus tips, this position is ideal for individuals eager to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused hospitality environment. Expected hours vary from 1 to 25 per week, providing flexibility and the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a vibrant setting.

The primary responsibility of the Bar Back is to ensure that the bar is fully stocked and organized, supporting bartenders and other staff by replenishing supplies efficiently. This role requires constant attention to stocking all beer, wine, liquor, juices, mixers, and dry goods. Perishable items must be carefully managed with correct dating to ensure freshness. Cleanliness is paramount, as the Bar Back will be tasked with daily sweeping and mopping of floors, trash removal, and maintaining sanitary conditions at bar stations. They will also clean, wash, and store glassware and bar tools to guarantee a steady supply during service rushes.

In addition to maintaining physical supplies, the Bar Back plays an important role in creating a welcoming atmosphere by promoting "The Big Six" principles: fun, friendly, quick, comfortable, clean, and safe. This ethos underpins the overall guest and team member experience, ensuring every visit is memorable and enjoyable. The role embodies a behind-the-scenes leadership that is essential to seamless guest service and the vibrant hospitality environment at Cherokee Nation Entertainment.

Ideal candidates will possess a high school diploma or GED, be at least 18 years of age, and able to obtain a food handler's card and state-issued alcoholic beverage license. While experience in fast-paced hospitality, warehousing, or similar roles is beneficial, the company welcomes applicants eager to learn and grow, providing training to the right candidate. Furthermore, alcohol awareness training is a requirement to successfully fulfill this role.

Joining Cherokee Nation Entertainment means becoming part of a dynamic team dedicated to excellence, community, and growth, with access to a wide range of career paths in gaming, hospitality, entertainment, and more. The Bar Back position offers a unique opportunity to develop essential skills and play a critical supporting role in delivering world-class service in a bustling entertainment environment.
