Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • previous related hospitality or banquet service experience
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • CPR and food service training completion within designated period
  • ability to lift approximately 25 pounds
  • maintenance of professional appearance and uniform standards
  • knowledge of health department standards and ABC laws
  • ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • team player mentality
  • responsiveness to guest and client needs

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is desired but not essential
  • previous related experience in food service supervision, hospitality, banquet service is strongly preferred
  • work well with other team members and departments
  • read and write English and perform mathematical computations
  • effectively communicate with guests and clients using courtesy, tact and diplomacy
  • safely carry trays and transport carts
  • ability to remain calm and organized under multiple demands
  • give and follow directions accurately and efficiently

Job Duties

  • Complete all food service training within 14 days of hire
  • read and understand banquet event orders (BEOs) in detail
  • organize scheduled staff to perform the necessary tasks to fulfill the BEO
  • monitor timeliness of food and beverage service as specified by BEO
  • set up event areas as prescribed by the BEO, ensuring 100% readiness 15 minutes prior to event start time
  • demonstrate attentiveness and responsiveness to guest needs
  • ensure guest and team member relations are excellent
  • understand safe handling of food, beverage, and service equipment
  • complete all assigned pre- and post-event tasks
  • ensure safe and correct storage of equipment
  • maintain beverage stations
  • meet flexible scheduled hours and maintain punctuality
  • assist in other hotel work areas as instructed
  • report maintenance needs
  • participate in training and meetings to enhance skills
  • maintain professional uniform and appearance standards
