The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Education and Human Sciences houses the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), a membership-based program dedicated to lifelong learning for adults aged 50 and older. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in event planning, hospitality, or related work
  • Associate degree plus four years of experience in event planning, hospitality, or related work
  • High school diploma or equivalency plus six years of experience in event planning, hospitality, or related work
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office, presentation software, and database management
  • Proficiency in hosting and managing virtual events on Zoom or similar platform, including scheduling, participant management, and troubleshooting
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to be flexible in performing work assignments
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet University driver eligibility requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with two years of event planning, hospitality, or related experience
  • Associate degree with four years of event planning, hospitality, or related experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent with six years of event planning, hospitality, or related experience
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office and database management

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and flexibility in work assignments
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet university driver eligibility

Job Duties

  • Plan and manage events ranging from small luncheons to large programs with over 300 attendees
  • Serve as primary contact for all event requirements
  • Oversee logistics, content, and budget for annual and special events
  • Manage and schedule volunteer committees and supervise volunteer activities
  • Handle correspondence with presenters and entertainers
  • Solicit and incorporate member input for event improvements
  • Coordinate virtual events including scheduling and participant management
