In the role of Offshore Baker, Sodexo offers a full-time opportunity involving varying shifts with open availability preferred, compensated at a rate of $14.00 per hour. The Offshore Baker is responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods adhering to Sodexo’s culinary standards and production recipes, ensuring high quality both in taste and appearance. This role demands precision in measuring ingredients, mixing doughs and batters, and managing the baking process including regulating oven temperatures and monitoring baking times. The baker will operate within a clean and organized bake shop environment, maintaining product rotation, storage, labeling, and overall bakery sanitation. Great attention to detail is essential to accommodate special requests and uphold product quality standards. Physical stamina is also required, given the role’s demands for long periods of standing, walking, and handling items that may weigh up to 50 pounds.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma GED or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 1 more years of related work experience
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to use hands to finger handle feel reach and taste or smell
  • Open availability for varying shifts
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and production specifications
  • Willingness to work in a clean and organized bake shop environment

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma GED or equivalent experience
  • 0 to 1 more years of related work experience
  • Experience in a specialized bakery or pastry role preferred

Job Duties

  • Check daily production schedules and follow Sodexo recipes to prepare a variety of baked items from scratch such as breads rolls muffins biscuits cakes and pastries
  • Accurately weigh and measure ingredients mix doughs and batters by hand or mixer shape and cut dough and bake items to perfection
  • Regulate oven temperatures monitor baking times and ensure all products are prepared held and served at correct temperatures
  • Set up and stock the bake shop area maintain proper storage rotation labeling and dating of all products and keep the bakery clean and organized
  • Pay close attention to detail accommodate special requests and ensure only high-quality baked items leave the kitchen
  • Significant walking or other means of mobility
  • Must be able to use hands to finger handle feel reach with hands and arms and taste or smell
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time throughout the entire duration of a shift which may exceed 8 hours
  • Ability to reach bend stoop push and/or pull and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
  • Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts depending on business necessities and client requirements
