Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in higher education in athletics, enrollment, or student life
  • bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • commitment to Christian faith and university's theological context
  • ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • valid or attainable Oregon Driver's License
  • flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • adherence to FERPA and mandatory reporting laws
  • strong ethics and attention to detail

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in a higher education setting, particularly athletics, enrollment, or student life
  • higher education degree preferred
  • excellent communication skills with tact, patience, and courtesy
  • effective organizational skills
  • high technical aptitude with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Job Duties

  • Serve as the administrative support and liaison to designated administrators for clerical and administrative duties
  • manage daily operations of the athletic department
  • serve as the primary receptionist, greeting guests and managing telephone communications
  • maintain calendars for Athletic Director, Associate Athletic Director, and athletic facilities
  • provide calendar management, travel planning, event management, human resource support, front desk coordination, and project assistance
  • oversee physical office space and inventory of supplies
  • facilitate incoming and outgoing mail and organize mailings
  • coordinate new-hire paperwork and assist with onboarding
  • plan and assist with special projects and department events
  • coordinate travel arrangements, including hotel bookings
  • provide administrative and programming support for tri-athlete initiatives
  • track and document assessment activities
  • operate office equipment and software
  • develop marketing materials, bulletin boards, and newsletters
  • manage student-athlete transcript files, letters of intent, scholarship communication, and roster upkeep
  • liaise with other Office Managers and Administrative Assistants for interdepartmental communication
  • serve as point person for facility rentals and communications
  • assist in preparing reports, meeting materials, and budgets
  • accept new projects and support departmental initiatives
  • advise and mentor student athlete leaders
  • supervise student employees and interns
  • attend assigned events and functions
  • perform related duties as assigned
