Job Description

Chicagoland Speedway is a premier 1.5-mile oval racing track located in Joliet, Illinois. Situated approximately 30 miles south of downtown Chicago on the historic Route 66, Chicagoland Speedway has long been a beloved destination for racing enthusiasts and families alike. Known for its thrilling motorsport events, the speedway has played host to numerous NASCAR series over the years, bringing high-energy racing action to the Chicago metropolitan area. In 2026, NASCAR will make its highly anticipated return to Chicagoland Speedway, hosting three days of exciting racing action from July 3rd through July 5th. This significant event marks a resurgence of top-tier motorsports at the facility and promises to showcase intense competition among some of the best drivers in the sport.

The role of Office Coordinator at Chicagoland Speedway is a seasonal, in-office position based in Joliet, Illinois, specifically tailored for NASCAR's 2026 event. This position is critical to ensuring the smooth administrative and operational flow within the speedway office, especially during the peak time around the NASCAR event. Reporting directly to the General Manager and the Director of Facility Operations, the Office Coordinator will take on a multifaceted role requiring high organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage various administrative tasks simultaneously.

As Office Coordinator, the successful candidate will serve as a pivotal member of the leadership support team. You'll be responsible for coordinating with various departments, including the corporate legal team, ensuring that all legal documents such as contracts, agreements with partners, vendors, service providers, and track rental arrangements are properly developed and managed. Your role also involves providing comprehensive administrative support to Chicagoland Speedway’s leadership, which includes managing daily calendars, handling expense reports, organizing travel itineraries, and processing credential requests.

Communication is a key component of this position. The Office Coordinator will maintain clear and professional communication channels between internal teams and external vendors to ensure alignment and informed decision-making. The role also demands the ability to stay calm and effective under pressure, particularly during high-stakes situations that may arise during event preparations or live race days.

Additional duties include oversight of the guest list and distribution of invitations and passes for events hosted at the Chicagoland Speedway suite, as well as acting as a host during such occasions. Managing the procurement and distribution of staff and event apparel is also part of this dynamic role. The Office Coordinator must maintain confidentiality in all dealings, handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages, and coordinate logistics regarding office equipment with the IT department. This includes assisting with telecom and network issues and maintaining inventory logs.

The position requires a proactive approach to organizing office operations and procedures while ensuring supplies and the breakroom inventory are well maintained. This role is suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and enjoys the challenge and excitement of the motorsports industry. The compensation for this seasonal position ranges from $15.00 to $17.00 per hour. NASCAR offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports employee wellness and professional growth, strengthening the commitment to its vibrant, diverse workforce.

Joining NASCAR and Chicagoland Speedway means becoming part of a unique, close-knit environment fueled by passion, energy, and the pursuit of excellence. The company values the experience, skills, and enthusiasm of its employees and fosters an inclusive workplace where everyone is empowered to succeed. For those interested in a role that offers both personal and professional development in a high-energy sector, the Office Coordinator position at Chicagoland Speedway presents a fantastic opportunity to be part of an iconic sporting event's triumphant return.
