Job Description
Miller's Health Systems, established in 1964, has been a trusted provider of compassionate care for families across Indiana for over five decades. As a 100 percent employee-owned company, Miller's operates multiple facilities throughout the state, offering a wide range of services, including rehabilitation, adult day care, assisted living, and traditional long-term nursing care. The company's core philosophy focuses on delivering high-quality care in locations that allow residents to remain close to their homes and communities, fostering a sense of comfort and familiarity during their care journey.
At Miller's Health Systems, the dedication to patient-centered care is deeply ingrained in the culture, supported by a team-oriented environment that values professionalism, compassion, and respect. The organization prides itself on maintaining a supportive workplace where employees are empowered and valued as essential contributors to the well-being of both patients and their families.
The Office Assistant role at Miller's presents a unique opportunity for organized, goal-driven professionals who thrive in fast-paced office settings and enjoy working collaboratively. This position serves as a vital point of contact within the facility, where the incumbent will be responsible for managing front desk operations, welcoming visitors, and effectively screening and directing incoming phone calls. The Office Assistant plays a key role in supporting daily administrative functions and providing general assistance to the Business Office Manager, in addition to answering questions and guiding patients, staff, and families as needed.
This full-time position requires someone who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service, exhibits professionalism in both appearance and behavior, and possesses strong communication and organizational skills. Previous experience working with multi-line phone systems and standard office equipment, along with prior receptionist or front desk experience, is highly preferred. Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in basic computer skills and time management, contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the office.
Beyond the front desk responsibilities, the role also involves engaging with human resources functions such as coordinating new hires and onboarding, performing light clerical duties, participating in HR meetings, and managing employee records. These secondary duties highlight the versatile nature of the position and the integral support it provides across departments.
Miller's Health Systems is fully committed to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) guidelines, ensuring a respectful and inclusive work environment for all employees. The position is categorized as Exposure Category II, indicating that while the job typically involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, it may occasionally require unplanned tasks classified in Category I.
The role's hours of operation are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, offering a consistent work schedule that promotes work-life balance. Working at Miller's means joining a long-standing community-focused company dedicated to enhancing the lives of those it serves through quality care and professional excellence. This Office Assistant role is ideal for candidates seeking growth within a reputable health care organization where their contributions directly impact the patient and employee experience.
