Job Requirements

  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade
  • Training with food preparation, safety, sanitation or related areas
  • One year of school food service experience
  • Ability to meet physical demands including heavy lifting
  • Valid Food Handlers Card or Certificate issued for Riverside County

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of state reimbursable breakfast and lunch program
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetical calculations and measurement processes
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to health and safety in cafeteria
  • Ability to meet physical, mental and environmental demands of position

  • Ability to keep accurate records
  • Ability to operate a Point of Sale

Job Duties

  • Operate the Point of Sale for all meals served
  • Supervise children at the Point of Sale including ensuring accurate charge and accountability, and ensure meal is reimbursable
  • Assist in washing and storing utensils, trays, and containers
  • Assist in maintaining the food service facility (kitchen and serving areas) in a safe, clean, and sanitary condition
  • Restock milk cooler
  • Restock condiments
  • Restock salad bar
  • Prepare after-school program snacks
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
