The Nutrition & Culinary Services Supervisor position at Boutwells Landing is a vital role ensuring the creation of high-quality meals and memorable dining experiences for residents and customers. This supervisory role requires effective leadership and oversight of nutrition and culinary services staff, including cooks, chefs, servers, and lead servers. The supervisor actively participates in meal preparation, service, and menu planning following established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. The role involves maintaining stringent documentation for meal services, ensuring compliance with health and food safety regulations, and consistently soliciting and incorporating customer feedback to enhance meal quality and satisfaction.
Working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with every other weekend scheduled from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Wednesdays off, this position offers a structured schedule ideal for those seeking balance. Reporting directly to the Nutrition & Culinary Services Director, and occasionally collaborating with the Assistant Director, the supervisor plays a key role in maintaining the high standards that PHS and Boutwells Landing are known for.
Offering a competitive starting pay range of $25.46 to $27.41 per hour (subject to qualifications and experience), this full-time role includes benefits such as health and dental insurance, employer contributions to health savings accounts, life insurance, retirement plans with employer match, holiday pay, and extended sick leave. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a food service supervisor course preferred
- Certified Dietary Manager preferred
- Minimum one year food service experience in restaurant, health care or senior services
- Knowledge of state and federal food-handling and kitchen regulations including Serve Safe Certification
- Ability to work flexible hours including every other weekend
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Qualifications
- Must possess, as a minimum a high school or equivalent education
- Completion of a food service supervisor course preferred, Certified Dietary Manager preferred
- One (1) year food service experience in a restaurant, health care or senior services setting
- Knowledge of state and federal food-handling and kitchen regulations (Serve Safe Certification)
- Must possess knowledge of food service operations
- Must have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, coworkers, family members, visitors, and the general public
- Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers
Job Duties
- Oversee and assist with meal preparation and service based on established menus, regulations, established policies, procedures and best practices
- Regularly solicit customer feedback and incorporate solutions regarding the quality and satisfaction with meals served into meal and service planning
- Assist with menu planning
- Maintain and monitor accurate meal documentation records per established procedures
- Assist with cleaning of equipment and work areas
- Participate in resident care conferences as assigned
