Job Description
Montage Health is a reputable healthcare organization committed to providing exceptional patient care and fostering a supportive work environment for its employees. As a leading provider in the medical field, Montage Health emphasizes the importance of quality, compassion, and professionalism in delivering healthcare services. The organization is dedicated to continuous improvement and innovative practices that meet the evolving needs of its patients and the community it serves. With a focus on teamwork, respect, and patient-centered care, Montage Health offers a dynamic workplace where employees are valued and encouraged to grow professionally.
The nursing assistant/unit receptionist role at Montage Health plays a pivotal part in supporting the nursing staff and ensuring a smooth operation within the healthcare setting. Reporting to the department director, assistant director, charge nurse, or nurse, this position is essential in taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, and providing comfort measures for an assigned group of patients. Additionally, the nursing assistant/unit receptionist is responsible for performing clerical and receptionist duties connected to their assigned department, facilitating effective communication and operational efficiency.
This role requires a balance of clinical support and administrative skills. The nursing assistant/unit receptionist demonstrates a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and excellent customer service, always aiming to meet or exceed patient and departmental expectations. Working under the direct supervision of an RN, the candidate must adhere to the policies and procedures of Montage Health and the specific department. This position involves working primarily on the PM shift with some occasional day shift coverage, comprising 72 hours over the pay period, reflecting a 0.9 full-time equivalent (FTE).
Montage Health values experience and competency and expects candidates to have at least one year of patient care experience within the last two years, preferably in an acute hospital or long-term care setting. The role demands proficiency with medical terminology, strong computer skills, multitasking ability, detail orientation, organizational skills, exceptional phone etiquette, and solid communication capabilities. Critical thinking is a key attribute, essential for providing effective patient care and managing concurrent duties in a busy and demanding healthcare environment.
Educational qualifications include a high school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent work experience in a related field, with a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course or relevant work experience being mandatory. Candidates must successfully pass orientation and initial competency assessments before independently caring for patients requiring specific skills and must complete all annual competencies to maintain their qualifications.
The position offers a competitive hourly pay range from $30.40 to $40.67, depending on applicable experience. There are additional incentives including hourly shift differentials: an evening shift differential of $2.01 and a night shift differential of $2.95. This compensation structure reflects Montage Health's commitment to recognizing the hard work and dedication of its staff, especially during less desirable working hours. This employment opportunity is regular and aligns with Montage Health's commitment to equal opportunity and an inclusive workforce. Candidates obtaining the required American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification will meet the licensure requirements.
