Job Description
This esteemed healthcare institution is a vibrant, community-focused hospital located in Northern California, renowned for its dedication to excellence in maternal and perinatal care. The hospital has earned numerous accolades such as patient safety and quality recognition, a Baby-Friendly designation, and is on a Magnet journey that underscores its culture of nursing excellence. Patients and staff alike benefit from a cutting-edge environment, which integrates advanced technologies including wireless fetal monitoring, smart electronic health record optimization, and AI-supported early warning systems. The hospital also boasts modern Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) suites designed to enhance patient comfort and care. Supported by strong community philanthropy and active maternal health coalitions, this hospital offers a family-centered model of care that promotes well-being and positive health outcomes for mothers and newborns.
The role of Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery Perinatal Services is a prominent leadership position within this hospital, offering an exciting opportunity to oversee a high-volume birthing program. This role calls for a compassionate and innovative leader to guide a multidisciplinary team which includes obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, midwives, pediatric specialists, lactation consultants, and dedicated nursing staff. The Nurse Manager will report to the Director of Women’s and Children’s Services and work closely with the Chief Nursing Executive to lead daily operations spanning L&D triage, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and obstetrics operating rooms.
Key responsibilities in this role encompass managing staffing strategies, budgeting, patient throughput, and improving patient experiences. The Nurse Manager will also play a critical part in advancing the hospital’s accreditation readiness and ensuring regulatory compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), Title 22, and AWHONN acuity standards. The hospital emphasizes a collaborative leadership style and is committed to the professional growth and mentorship of its nursing team through shared governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
This position is ideal for a seasoned nursing leader who is excited about fostering excellence in perinatal services within a supportive, resource-rich environment. The Nurse Manager will leverage dedicated support from a perinatal clinical nurse specialist and a unit-based educator to sustain high-quality care delivery and innovative practice models. Beyond the hospital, this opportunity offers an exceptional quality of life with access to Northern California’s awe-inspiring natural beauty, vibrant cultural scenes, and family-friendly communities.
Compensation for this role is highly competitive, with a salary package of up to $240,000 annually. In addition, the Nurse Manager will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health and retirement benefits, generous paid time off, tuition and certification reimbursement, and potential support for relocation. Prospective candidates are encouraged to engage in a confidential conversation with a Clinical Management Consultants recruiter to explore how they can contribute to and grow within this forward-thinking maternal-child health leadership role.
