The role of Associate Barista at Price Chopper is essential for delivering exceptional service and quality coffee experiences to customers. This position requires the associate to oversee the daily operations and service standards within the coffee bar area, ensuring that all procedures align with Price Chopper’s high standards. The associate works under the guidance of the Food Service Manager and plays a supervisory role over Barista associates, ensuring they are trained and certified to meet company expectations. The role involves active participation in hiring, training, and coaching new Baristas to achieve certification, thereby maintaining a skilled and knowledgeable team.

The Associate Barista is responsible for providing fast, friendly, and efficient customer service, understanding customer needs, and making appropriate product suggestions. Responsibilities extend to suggestive selling and sampling to enhance customer experience and increase sales. The associate adheres to strict health and safety guidelines, ensuring that all beverages are prepared according to company standards. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the customer service area and workstations is critical, following 5S standards at all times. Additionally, the associate guides and directs certified Baristas to comply with store and Price Chopper policies, reinforcing a positive and helpful customer service attitude described as "just say yes" behavior.

Operational duties include performing cash handling, following inventory control policies, ordering products and supplies, maintaining equipment according to schedules, and ensuring all merchandising standards, stocking, and rotation tasks are completed properly. The associate is also responsible for recordkeeping and completing necessary training and certification programs to uphold performance standards. The position demands a commitment to company policies and procedures, with a focus on teamwork and customer satisfaction.

Employment is part-time with a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.10 to $20.55, reflecting the level of responsibility and skill required.
