We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Sous to join our culinary team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen line and maintaining the quality of every dish served.
As a Line Cook/Sous, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently cooking a variety of food products while adhering strictly to our recipes and standards. Your role includes food preparation such as portioning, cooking, plating, garnishing, and ensuring all items meet our quality and presentation requirements. You will take full ownership of the quality of the products served during your shift, maintaining consistency in taste and appearance. Additionally, you will be tasked with managing stock levels at your station to ensure seamless service and assist with closing procedures to maintain kitchen cleanliness and readiness for the next day. This position demands physical endurance, keen attention to detail, and the ability to follow precise culinary guidelines. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience as a line cook or sous chef preferred
- ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- basic knowledge of food safety regulations
- physical stamina and dexterity to perform kitchen duties
- excellent communication skills
Job Qualifications
- At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity
- must be able to communicate clearly
- be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds
- be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time, up to 9+ hours
Job Duties
- Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
- knows and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
- stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
- portions food product prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
- follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
- handles, stores and rotates all products properly
- closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen
- assists others as needed
