This position involves engaging directly with guests to take orders, serve food and drinks, and ensure that their dining experience is pleasant from start to finish. The server must be knowledgeable about the menu, including the various food and drink specials, to effectively address guest inquiries and provide recommendations when necessary. Familiarity with the Point of Sale (POS) system is vital for order entry and processing payments efficiently and accurately.\n\nAdditionally, this role requires teamwork, as servers support coworkers by maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of tables, running food and drinks, and assisting with various side duties throughout their shift. Ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation policies is a critical responsibility, contributing to a safe environment for both guests and staff. Flanigan's also places an emphasis on training, requiring team members to complete and pass both the Florida Responsible Vendor program and a food safety certification program, further reflecting their commitment to regulatory compliance and quality service.\n\nPhysical stamina and flexibility are important attributes for this position, as servers are expected to stand and walk during the entire shift and be capable of lifting plates and clearing tables. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food and beverage service preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol as per Florida state regulations
- Completion and certification of Responsible Vendor and food safety programs
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Customer service oriented mindset
Job Qualifications
- Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
- Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
- Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
- Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
- Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Work in a fast paced environment
Job Duties
- Follow all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
- Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
- Be knowledgeable regarding food and beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
- Accurately enter orders into POS system
- Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
- Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
- Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
- Pack and verify all ToGo orders with guest
- Greet guests at the curbside pickup area
