The restaurant is recognized for its casual dining environment where guests are treated like family and friends, upheld by a team-oriented culture that values courtesy, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.
The role of Host/Hostess at Flanigan's is integral to the guest experience, as you are the first smiling face our guests see upon arrival and the last friendly interaction as they leave. This position requires a naturally hospitable individual who can create a positive first impression with genuine warmth and professionalism. As a host or hostess, you manage the flow of seating in the dining area efficiently, ensuring guests are promptly and comfortably seated. You are responsible for greeting guests with Flanigan's signature "Smile Talk," maintaining a cheerful and courteous demeanor, and engaging guests with conversation during their seating process.
In addition to welcoming guests, the position involves managing the waitlist effectively, communicating any guest questions or concerns to the manager on duty, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the foyer, host station, waiting area, and menus. Hosts/hostesses also contribute to the upkeep of guest restrooms and handle telephone inquiries promptly and courteously. This multifaceted role extends to performing opening and closing duties, conducting shift changes seamlessly, and completing assigned sidework to support smooth restaurant operations.
Candidates for this position should possess good physical stamina, as frequent reaching, bending, and stooping are necessary, along with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Proficiency in English is required for communication and compliance with safety standards. Applicants must complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program and food safety certification per both Flanigan's and Florida regulatory standards. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy engaging with people, providing outstanding customer service, and contributing to a dynamic team environment within a reputable restaurant.
Flanigan's offers a competitive employment package that includes a five-day work week, paid vacation accrued progressively with tenure, options for medical and dental insurance, a 401K retirement plan with immediate eligibility (requiring enrollment at age 21 or older), and discounted meals during shifts. Joining Flanigan's means becoming part of a restaurant that values its team members and strives to deliver exceptional dining experiences through dedicated and personable service.
