The Line Cook position at McMenamins is a vital role within the kitchen team, responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of hot and cold food items. This hourly, non-exempt role reports directly to the Manager and involves running the gamut of kitchen tasks from opening to closing. Line cooks at McMenamins are expected to handle the production of salads, sandwiches, pastas, appetizers, pizzas, weekly specials, and grilled or sautéed items with precision and care. The role demands mental agility, the ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining high food quality and safety standards.

In addition to food preparation, line cooks are responsible for organizing and cleaning their workstations, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment. Job Requirements

  • Obtain and maintain a current food handler's card
  • Ability to accurately work with numbers, orders and food specifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
  • Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform repetitive movements
  • Ability to work on feet for long periods

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous kitchen or line cook experience desirable
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and food specifications accurately

Job Duties

  • Handle all kitchen tasks from opening to closing
