McMenamins is a renowned chain of brewpubs, breweries, historic hotels, and theaters known for its unique blend of hospitality, local culture, and community-focused entertainment. Established in the Pacific Northwest, McMenamins offers guests an inviting place to enjoy quality food and uniquely crafted beverages in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Their establishments often combine historic preservation with modern amenities, creating memorable experiences for both locals and visitors. Committed to sustainability, community involvement, and fostering diversity, McMenamins emphasizes a positive work culture and outstanding guest service across all its venues.
The Dishwasher role at McMenamins is integral to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and efficiency that contribute to the overall guest experience. Reporting directly to the Manager, this hourly non-exempt position is responsible for the critical task of cleaning and organizing all dishware and kitchen equipment to ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant. This role involves much more than simply washing dishes; it requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes demanding environment. Dishwashers work closely with other team members to prioritize tasks in alignment with the needs of the restaurant and must be adaptable to varied duties including waste disposal and general workspace maintenance.
Dishwashers at McMenamins are expected to operate safely, practice proper sanitation, and adhere to all safety regulations to contribute to a safe and healthy workplace. The position demands someone who values teamwork but can also confidently work independently when necessary. The ability to manage repetitive physical activities such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and handling kitchen chemicals is essential. Additionally, dishwashers are encouraged to engage positively with co-workers and guests alike, embodying McMenamins' commitment to hospitality and exceptional customer service.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are looking to build a career in the hospitality industry or who enjoy contributing to a bustling restaurant environment. McMenamins supports its staff by requiring a current food handler’s card, ensuring ongoing skill development and compliance with health standards. Flexibility in scheduling, including availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays, is necessary to meet the demands of the business. Those assuming this position can expect a workplace that prizes respect for diversity, positive energy, and a commitment to fun and community in every shift. Overall, working as a Dishwasher at McMenamins is about being a proactive, reliable, and vital part of a team dedicated to creating outstanding dining experiences while supporting sustainable and community-oriented business practices.
